Salvo Day Use Area

Salvo Day Use Area is a wonderful spot for everyone, including families with small children. There are picnic tables, grills, restrooms, showers and changing rooms! Swim in the Pamlico Sound, an ideal alternative to the ocean because of the shallow and calmer water. Also perfect for kayaking, paddle boarding and other water activities! Stay and watch the sun go down for an unforgettable OBX sunset.

Off-Road Vehicle Ramp 23

Off-Road Vehicle Ramp 23 is located on the oceanside of the Salvo Day Use Area. There is beach access parking or you can drive on the beach! Remember, a four-wheel-drive vehicle and a permit are needed to drive on the beaches. Learn more about off-road vehicle access and tips here.

Off-Road Vehicle Ramp 25

Off-Road Vehicle Ramp 25 is located south of Ramp 23. This access has a pedestrian boardwalk, in addition to the vehicle ramp and parking is available. Make sure to bring your beach chairs, umbrella, cooler, and all beach necessities because once you've gotten down to the shore you may want to stay put all day!
