Are you looking for vacation rentals for you and your four-legged friend?
Here at KEES, we believe that all family members should be able to go on vacation with you, even the furry ones! We understand that it can be difficult to find somewhere to board your pets while you are away, which is why we provide our guests with pet-friendly rental options from Hatteras to Corolla, and everywhere in between!
Leash Laws
In Duck, dogs are allowed on the beaches year-round and are the only place in town where your pup can run and play off-leash! If your pooch decides to run around unrestrained, please ensure that you can maintain control over your dog.
Need to take your pup into town? All dogs must be leashed (10 feet or less) or controlled by a restraint throughout town, on the boardwalk, and on Duck Trail.
Feel free to take your scallywag to the Town Park, but make sure you leash up! There are plenty of doggy-friendly water fountains as well as designated trash receptacles throughout the park.
Please remember to be courteous and respect the safety of other dogs and humans by picking up after your pet on the beach and around town.
Dog-Friendly Activities in Duck
Duck is a wonderful place to bring your dog while staying in the Outer Banks. The Waterfront Shops are a unique, pet-friendly shopping village with a boardwalk that hugs the Currituck Sound and connects to the main Town boardwalk. With 27 different boutiques and restaurants, you and your pet will surely find something to love!
Follow your sweet pup’s nose down the boardwalk of the Waterfront Shops, and he might just bring you to Outer Barks, the premier dog and kitty store in the Outer Banks! With their onsite bakery, your dog will be in HEAVEN chomping all their nutritious and tasty treats that are baked daily.
Why drink alone when you can drink with your dog? This is exactly the reason why you should stick around for Outer Barks’s “Yappy Hour” which is held weekly on Tuesday afternoons from Easter to Thanksgiving. Enjoy doggie daiquiris (served by the Doberman behind the bar), fresh-baked treats, paw print painting, baby pools to chill out, agility courses, and more!
Duck offers a variety of pet-friendly restaurants with outdoor seating areas where you can have an elegant dinner, or just hang out with casual appetizers (even if it’s just cheese and quackers). Some of our favorite spots to lounge with our dogs are NC Coast Grill & Bar, The Blue Point, Coastal Cantina, Sweet T’s Coffee, Beer, and Wine, and Roadside Bar & Grill.
So, take a stroll with your dog and see for yourself what makes Duck such a pet-friendly town!
