Whether you're grabbing something quick from their convenient Grab & Go Bites or settling in for lunch or dinner, this new spot offers a little something for everyone. Redhead Bay Cafe

Now open in Grandy, Redhead Bay Café brings its popular Virginia Beach breakfast and lunch spot closer to the Outer Banks crowd. Carolina Cocktail house

Long wait times for dinner on vacation can easily ruin the vibe of a summer OBX trip. Corolla has a new way to pass the time. Carolina Cocktail House just opened in the Harris Teeter shopping center and it's already becoming a go-to spot. It's a sleek but laid-back cocktail bar with everything from classics like a Dirty Martini to fun house favorites, plus a light food menu. (Don't want to be hangry on vacation!) It's the perfect place to grab a drink before your reservation.

Outer banks gYRO

A new Greek dining spot has opened this May in Kill Devil Hills at milepost 8.5, right next to the Brewing Station. OBX Gyro is bringing a Greek option to the area, which is always a great addition to the food scene. They are serving shawarma, gyros, doner kebabs, falafel wraps, bowls, and platters. Each dish is made with freshly carved meats straight from the rotating spit and paired signature house-made sauces. They are also doing catering and group orders which are perfect for larger vacation rentals and events.

Exciting things are happening at the Village Beach Club in Nags Head! New for 2026, Gather at Village Beach Club is really stepping things up with one of the only oceanfront spots on the Outer Banks where you can get a full-service meal right on the beach. It's a great option for members, families, and anyone who wants good food without having to pack up and leave the sand. Many KEES homes have complimentary access to the Village Beach Club!

The den coffee co.

A brand-new coffee shop is coming to Nags Head! Outer Banks local photographer Mike Leech announced the opening in early May. According to The Den Coffee Co., the shop aims to be more than just a place for coffee, teas, smoothies, and pastries. The Den's core mission is to make people feel welcomed like family. Stay tuned!

The local OBX

If you are vacationing in Corolla and are looking for a new spot to mix things up, you're in luck! The Local OBX is Corolla's newest restaurant, bar and brewery. This new restaurant opened in May, and they post daily updates on their Facebook profile. Stop by for some fried dishes, locally sourced seafood, and refreshing brews.

Your new favorite local drink stop has arrived! Sip Shack Drinks and Jewelry is now open in Waves from 7:30 AM to 2:00 PM, serving up coffee, matcha, refreshers, energy drinks, and more. Tucked into a laid back setting surrounded by trees and surfboards, this new spot delivers great drinks and even better coastal vibes.

Cook Out has officially arrived in Kill Devil Hills and it is already becoming a popular new stop on the OBX food map. Whether you want a late night burger after a beach day or a quick stop for a banana pudding shake on the way back to your rental, Cook Out brings a fun and familiar energy to the Outer Banks.

Theodosia is Chef Vivian Howard's stunning new culinary jewel at the Sanderling Resort in Duck. Named for Theodosia Burr, who mysteriously disappeared off the Outer Banks. 1903 Bar & Kitchen is the newest addition to the Kill Devil Hills dining scene, bringing a stylish twist to the classic dive bar. Whether you're grabbing dinner with friends or starting your night out, 1903 Bar & Kitchen offers a fun, energetic scene that's quickly making it one of the must-visit places on the Outer Banks.

There's a new spot in Nags Head at the Croatan Centre, just north of the hospital, that's part shop, snack stop, and hangout. Meet Marsh Fox Market. Everything is either vintage or made in North Carolina, so it has a great local feel. They've got a small bar in the back with North Carolina-made snacks and drinks, plus nine beers on tap, Prosecco on tap, and wine and beer from around the world. It's a relaxed, shop-and-sip kind of place, and rumor has it there are even Corgis there to greet you!

j.crew factory

Need to get dressed for an interview, a special wedding or your vacation? Well you're in luck because J. Crew Factory has joined the Outlets in Nags Head. Colorful, timeless styles at prices that can't be beat. Whatever you've got going on, they have great styles for the whole family. Open now!

Corolla has a stylish new shop to explore! Jeg Boutique, already loved for its Manteo location, has opened a new storefront in Corolla Light Town Center. Once Upon a Toy in Downtown Manteo is an ideal spot to keep kids happy when the beach day takes a turn. This charming shop is packed with games, plushies, puzzles, and educational toys for every age and interest! 

Creative wave interiors

Creative Wave Interiors, at Timbuck II in Corolla, brings a fresh coastal-modern vibe to the OBX. The studio blends timeless elements with trend-forward style to create spaces that feel personal, effortless, and uniquely. Their approach ensures each residential or commercial project is thoughtfully tailored, with designers and trade specialists dedicated to bringing your vision to life. Outer Banks Candle Co

Outer Banks Candle Company creates hand-poured, coastal-inspired candles crafted right here on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. They now have a shop open in Duck, and even offer candle-making classes which is perfect for bachelorette parties, girls' trips, and other fun group activities!

Skechers

Great news fitness lovers! Skechers is to open at Outlets Nags Head in late April 2026. The addition of Skechers broadens shopping options for vacationers and local alike. Who doesn't love a good tennis shoe?

Rustic mermaid market

For all of my thrifters out there, listen up! The Rustic Mermaid is a newer shop on the Outer Banks that opened in June 2025 and is definitely worth a stop. They feature work from over 50 local artists and vendors, with a mix of antiques, upcycled pieces, handcrafted goods, coastal decor, jewelry, and more. Inventory changes daily, so it's the kind of place where you never know what unique finds you'll come across.

The Shack is a fun little boutique and gift shop in Nags Head, located right next to our friends at Outer Banks Adventures. It's stocked with beachy home decor, jewelry, soaps, local art, and clothing, with some options for men too. It's open seasonally from April through September, making it a great stop during the summer. Because who doesn't love a little beach souvenir?
