We stayed at Whalebone Cottage C and it was great. Because it’s very early in the season we had the area to ourselves. It was super easy to walk down to the beach, just steps away. The view from the deck was OK, but the sand dune was pretty tall, still really nice though. The upstairs bedrooms had the best view over the dunes. It was about a 40 minute walk down the beach to the pier where there was a little fish and beer place. Awesome .20 shrimp happy hour. We’d stay there again.

Great location, right on the beach and close to good restaurants and stores. In inclement weather (high winds) house sways a bit. The house is very clean and just as described. We had a great time!

Great spot. Very comfortable. Plenty of room for my family.
The only downside was the 2 car limit and no washer/dryer but we worked through those.

Mother's Day Getaway
This place was absolutely perfect!! The location was wonderful and close to everything. This was the first time I had ever rented from Kees and VRBO and I was very pleased with all of it. We will definitely be staying here again. The kids loved being so close to the beach and pool.

This cottage was EXCELLENT!!! Very clean and comfortable. All of the ammentities were wonderful. We had a group of 6 and had so much room! The beach view is amazing and the beach access is amazing!!!! I could not have chosen a better place to stay. Kees was great with communication and recommendations.

This a spacious, well-appointed property right on the beach. We loved looking out our bedroom window at the waves. The kitchen is beautiful and well stocked. Unfortunately, our kids got sick during our trip and we had to extend our stay. Kees (the property owner) worked with us to make that happen. We will look at Kees for our vacation rentals in the future!

Perfect winter break getaway for our family of 5. Cottage C was right on the beach and we loved it, we were able to run back and forth from the beach. House was clean and comfortable. Pretty quiet area of town but still close enough to restaurants.

Perfect location for exploring all of OBX. Jennette’s Pier within walking distance and made for beautiful scenery on the beach. Nice porch, very spacious house.

We really enjoyed our stay here, The house was very clean and was perfect for myself and my two friends but has lots of room for many more! I appreciated that we had enough hot water for all of us to shower at the same time! The access to the beach was perfect, I loved that each rental had their own private grill available for grilling, and I loved that the kitchen was fully stocked with lots of silverware and dishes so we did not need to do dishes each day.
I 100% recommend this for future vacationers!

This location is perfect with private beach access (the five Whalebone properties share the same private access) and it’s away from the heavily used, main stretch of road through town. The house is about a 10-15 minutes from the main attractions and restaurants we wanted to check out.
The rooms and house layout were nice for just the two of us staying on the main floor and the upstairs rooms would be nice for a larger family vacation with plenty of shared and private spaces for all. Each bedroom has it’s own bathroom, nice touch. There’s a big dining room table and kitchen island along with all the cooking utensils to make a seafood dinner right at the house.
We loved this central island location and accessibility to explore south to the Bodie Island Lighthouse and Cape Hatteras, north to Nags Head, Kill Devil Hills, Kitty Hawk, and the Wright Brothers Memorial, and west to Roanoke Island. We’d love to stay at this location again when we come back to visit the Outer Banks.

We loved our stay at Whalebone! Such a beautiful location. This condo was on the first row from the water- a super easy walk over the dunes. The condo was spacious, beds were comfortable, and we found the central location was great for being first time visitors to the Outer Banks. Make sure you bring all the supplies you need- because it is run by a management company, you may not get the personal touches and thoughtful conveniences you get from privately run air bnb’s. But we enjoyed our stay very much and would recommend it!

Went with a group of friends. Absolutely amazing location, steps away from the beach! Loved the patio area as well. Had a bit of trouble starting the grill but figured it out. The day before check in someone from the rental company called to confirm our stay, was great to talk to a live person regarding our stay. Would definitely come back again!

This is a great beach house. Perfect access to a nice clean pool and wooden walkway over the big dune to the beach. Very clean inside. good bedrooms. Food Lion was pretty convenient FYI. Good AC. Nice covered porch and furniture. Good parking under the raised house. Management was great.

Such a great place to stay! We drove in for a wedding and shared the space with two other families. There was plenty of space in the common areas for shared meals and hanging out. Each bedroom also was roomy and comfortable for our small families to have their own space! The views of the sunrise over the ocean were beautiful and I couldn’t believe how close we were to the ocean for the value! We’re already looking to plan another trip for this summer!!

The house is fantastic - clean, well laid out, and well appointed. The location is perfect for beach access as well as for quick trips to local stores or eateries. We were there off-season so cant comment on the pool etc. Kees is fantastic to work with. Highly recommended house and host!

The location of this unit was perfect - ocean facing. I could take my coffee mug, just stroll to the shore and see the sunrise.
Inside the unit everything was neat and clean, the rooms spacious. There is a pool right below the unit, open only in season.
Difficult to get such a perfect place!

You will not be disappointed! The cottage was clean and bright. The housekeeping ladies were friendly and helpful. Having a bathroom with each bedroom was very convenient. The walkway to the beach made it so much easier to get there! Thank you for a wonderful time! We'll be back!
