We enjoyed our stay in this very spacious and comfortable house, which is very close to the beach as well as a lake with turtles in it. It was too cold to swim in the pool, but the hot tub was a delight.

We enjoyed our stay at the Blue Heron, it was clean upon arrival, the kitchen was stocked with needed supplies and the linens were very clean! It was a very short walk to the beach and had a lot of walking or biking areas. The beach area and living area is very family friendly. Did not get to see any wild horses though because we didn’t know you had to go to the 4 wheel drive beach to do so.

Great space and layout, great location. Check out time of 10am seemed a bit early but we were able to get a noon check out for an additional fee. Shampoo and shower gel was skimpy - they would be better off just telling guests to bring their own. All other amenities were as described. We like to cook, and the kitchen was well stocked and we were glad to have the gas grill outside. Overall we loved the house and had a great time! We would definitely book again.

We took our first blended family vacation and it did not disappoint. We also brought our 2 dogs - and they loved it. Rooms are in good shape, with ample closet space and places to put clothes. Beds are comfy. The kitchen and eating area had plenty of space and all of the items needed for a home away from home. The house is in a good location about a 6 min walk or 2 min bike ride to the beach. The pool and hot tub are perfect after a long day at the beach. House is next to a pond which is great for morning walks. Grocery stores, restaurants and shopping close by. My only small complaint was the bathroom in bedroom 2 had a problem with the faucet and we called shortly after arrival and it took several days to come fix. Other than that, no complaints. We will gladly book again and have already recommended to friends.

Amazing!
This is the best location I have stayed in in OBX, wonderful neighborhood and a few blocks from the beach, such a great vibe! The beds were super comfortable, each room had its own bathroom, the kitchen was well equipped and there was plenty of room for everyone. Pool and hot tub were amazing. We had a problem with one of the AC units, we called and they had someone there within an hour. Definitely one of the perks of going through a place that has a management company. I don't think we will look any further for our next trip, this is the winner!

nice vacation stay
It was a great house and had nice amenities. There were a couple hiccups (ice maker didn't work, TVs were a bit difficult to figure out), but overall it was a great stay. Deck access was awesome, deck furniture very nice, pool was clean and refreshing.

Great location, awesome house!
The house was amazing! Exactly as listed, the pool and hot tub was such a hit for the kids and the adults honestly lol. The location of the house is perfect, very quiet, and just a short 30 second walk to a little lake where you can feed the turtles. As soon as you walk up to the lake, the turtles start swimming towards the shore, so bring some snacks for them if you go down there. Overall a great stay and we will be back!

The Blue Heron house is a terrific beach house. We enjoyed our Honeymoon trip there very much! I would recommend it to other families and couples who come to explore the Outer Banks!

This was such an awesome house to stay at!! It’s a very quick walk to the beach and we loved the hot tub. I do wish the outside were a little cleaner, there were a lot of spiderwebs but there is only so much you can do about that. It is in a great location and it’s right near some amazing shops. And there is a food lion not even a mile from the house! The beach isn’t too busy and it’s a super clean beach. Kees was always quick to respond and we didn’t have any major problems during our stay! I 100% recommended this house!!

Great house, great location, great stay. It’s about a 3 block walk to the beach. And the pool and hot tub are perfect if you are looking to switch it up a bit. The house is well maintained and fully stocked. We would rent again in a heartbeat.

Great house! Location is perfect and is super easy to get the beach. The pool and hot tub are great back ups. The grill was great to use. Lots of great shade in the house and was supplied with great games and videos.
We all enjoyed the house. And the management company was really responsive when we had any questions.

Enjoyed our stay, beautiful house and well decorated, good amount of furniture for our group. Just suggest bringing extra blankets for your stay. There are plenty of kitchen supplies for your cooking needs. The house was only a 5-10 minute walk to the beach and the weather was beautiful. The host sent us directions before our stay so we were well prepared, thank you so much for having us!

We had a great stay at Blue Heron. House is nice and location is great. We had an issue with a small leak under the kitchen sink and Kees was super responsive and it was fixed the same day. Would definitely consider returning.

Great location and floor plan!
We walked to the beach everyday of our trip, what a great location! It was also a great layout for family and friends, all of the bedrooms had their own bathrooms and the “hangout/common” areas were also well spread. The house can easily accommodate 8 or more comfortably! We would recommend for your next OBX vacation! Pro tip: The Kees vacations company must not monitor their VRBO inbox though so if you need to get in touch with them you’ll want to call their office directly instead of using the app messaging.

Safe Vacation
Great vacation for social distancing. Area is not too crowded. Was able to have plenty of space at beach and restaurants had outdoor seating etc. House was close to everything. We spent most of our time at the great pool and hot tub.

Great place to stay
We enjoyed our stay. The house was as described and the location very convenient. The only thing I'd recommend is to bring your own kitchen knives..the ones at the property are extremely dull & you cannot prep/cook with them. But other than that minor thing everything was great and we would return.

One interesting aspect, on the upper level, you’re either hot or freezing. When the a/c comes on, the location of the vents above the seating area blows cold air directly on you. It’s too high to reach to change the direction of air flow so there’s not much the occupants can do about it...

Great House a Short Walk from the Beach
We loved our stay at this house. House was well equipped and had everything we needed for a pleasant stay. Great neighborhood; house is about a quarter mile from the beach, all residential. Pool and hot tub were in great shape.

Beautiful oasis
This home was the perfect place for a short family vacation. We were sad to leave and wished we had booked a few more days. The check in process was a breeze. The beach was a short walk away through a trail by the lake that leads to the beach access point. The pool and hot tub were clean and the perfect place to relax while grilling on the propane grill. We enjoyed the size of the house, and even with 8 adults and a pitbull, we had more than enough space to have some alone time. We loved the house and look forward to going back in the future, next time we all agreed we have to stay for a week!

Awesome and relaxing Outerbanks Vacation property
We received all information well ahead of time to check in. The check in process was super easy and non invasive. All we did was use the access code. No meet ups or exchange of keys. This was great with a large group going back and forth from the beach to the house. No need to keep up with or pass around keys. Simple access code is genius. The property was exactly as recommended and spotless. The pool hot tub and grill were all ready to go upon arrival. The house was clean and appointed completely. we brought nothing but towels and toilet paper. Everything else was there, plates, cups, cooking utensils, pots, pans etc. there were even k cups for the coffee maker!!! The house is a short walk to the beach and we just loved the pool and hot tub area. Grill also worked great. We used it two nights in a row!! This was literally a turn key vacation rental. Absolutely loved it.

Great stay!
I went down for a weekend with my husband, parents, and two dogs. It was such a relief to find somewhere that allows pets because boarding them can get expensive. It was a close walk to the beach and I love that it also has a pool in case you feel like staying at home one day. Also just down the street from a grocery store and other shops. Already booked for a week this summer!

Spacious and Comfortable!
We stayed at Blue Heron over the long holiday weekend and loved it! An easy walk to the beach through the neighborhood with great views from the deck. Best feature is that every bedroom has it's own bath! Dining table seats 8 easily, plus there's another table that seats 4. I love the "Ship's Watch" for reading. Brand new hot tub, and there's a private pool!!
