The house was perfect for our multifamily group! Had plenty of bedrooms and several common areas for us all to congregate in smaller groups, yet the top floor was big enough to accommodate us all for meals together. The pool/hot tub were great for all ages. And so close to the beach!

The teenagers loved the hot tub, pool, and walkability to beach and nearby stores. The view of sunsets was beautiful. The pier at the end of the street was relaxing. This was our first time renting on the sound side and we were extremely happy with Tranquil Turtle in the Village at Nags Head. The home was beautifully decorated and well stocked. Perfect Spring Break
Our family stayed at Tranquil Turtle for a Spring Break vacation and we had a fantastic time. Major pros of the property: Plenty of room inside and outside for everyone to enjoy. Short 5-10 minute walk to the beach. We stayed in early April so temperatures were 60-70 degrees but the heated pool and hot tub were amazing if it's still too cool for the beach. Beautiful views of the sound, sunsets, and overlooking the 8th hole of the golf course. Great kitchen with ice machine, 2 dishwashers, and all of the equipment you could possibly need. The elevator was really convenient for getting all the luggage up to the 2nd and 3rd floors. Right next to the Nags Head Golf Links which was a great course. Location was great too with lots of restaurants and a super market near by, and about an hour drive to the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse, which was a really nice drive. We would 100% stay here again. Only recommendation would be if you have young children bring baby gates because there are a lot of stairs (we found a place to rent them about 1 mile away).

A great place for a family vacation
The Tranquil Turtle was first-rate for our family vacation (4 adults and 4 teens). Lots of living space, everything sparkling clean, well equipped kitchen with everything we needed. The elevator was smooth and simple to use (and essential for one member of our family). The pool was closed (November stay) but we made good use of the hot tub and extensive decks. A minor problem with a door latch was fixed promptly. We have vacationed on the OBX for more than 15 years and this lovely home is one of the very best.

Perfect house in a perfect location
We have been staying in the Outerbanks for the last 9 years and always have a different home. After staying at Tranquil Turtle we feel we have found the one we are going to return to. Kitchen is perfectly stocked, view is gorgeous, all the beds are very comfortable, the pool door alarms worked well to alert you to run away kids trying to go out without permission, covered porches on every side and level of the house. All the rooms were the perfect size… overall it’s the best home we have stayed at and we highly recommend it. Another perk is the neighborhood is quiet and on a cup de sac leading to a dock on the sound.

First time at Nags Head and hand an extremely awesome time with friends and family. Even though it was a bit cooler than we would like we still enjoyed the pool and the hot tub was the icing on the cake to help relax at the end of the day. Sound system couldn't be more perfect to set the ambiance. Absolutely with out a doubt the best house in the neighborhood. I almost fell over when I saw the elevator.

A Family Memorial for our loved one
10 of us gathered for a week to remember and share stories of a loved one. Ages from 2 to 89 and once again fell in love with our home island. The home was comfortable and spacious for us all. The idea of suites for everyone was the highlite with the numerous king size beds. A oerfect location with so much beautiful surrounding this home. An ideal week to play golf and bicycle daily.

Wonderful accessible house in a quiet neighborhood. This was our first time in many year not staying oceanfront but loved the back deck overlooking the golf course and view of the sound. House was well appointed and comfortable with nice light/views on the main (kitchen/dining/living room)level. Also loved the easy access to the sound pier at the end if the street. Would definitely recommend this one!

The home is beautiful and backs to a nice peaceful pond. Be sure to take in a sunset from the top floor deck. It was breathtaking. The hosts were responsive to our questions and quickly corrected an issue with the propane tank. However, the grill was filthy so be prepared to work if you plan to use it.

The Tranquil Turtle was everything we expected and that much more!! Our family had the best time, even during a pandemic, because the house had everything we needed! We had 11 people staying in the house, ranging from a baby to grandparents. There was MORE than enough space for everyone and the kids (ages 4-7) absolutely loved the bunk room! Although we chose to drive to the beach, it was most certainly a walkable distance away and was a great beach! We enjoyed watching the golfers every morning while having our breakfast on the top porch. The house included everything that needed and more, as throughout the week we would find even more treasures, like the board games and playing cards and sound system outside! We are already excited to come back to the Outerbanks (preferably not during a pandemic) and stay in this beautiful house with our ever growing family!

This home is beautiful! Exactly as described. Plenty of room for 14 adults and 3 Pre Teens!
We would definitely come back to this property. Please note there is major construction going on right next door. Since the houses are so close together the noise from the crew can be annoying. But we just closed to blinds on that side of the house and enjoyed the inside since it was off season (Thanksgiving). Also construction right across the street. So needless to say to view from the front was not too impressive. But the back is beautiful!!! The house was equipped with plenty of pots for cooking. But no seasonings or little extras like foil or plastic bags do be sure to bring your own. I cooked an entire Thanksgiving Dinner and was very satisfied with the quantity of pans available. And I am a cook so quality cookware means a lot to me. The beds were extremely comfortable... all of them!!! Everyone said they tested well and didn’t want to get out of the beds. The quality of sheets that were provided were top notch! And that is another thing that my husband and I are particular about is sheet quality. The only thing I would add is a portable fireplace to the master on the Too Floor. The temp in there is only comfortable if you turn the heat on like 78 in the living area. Which is a problem if you have guest in that space then they will be too hot. The house views of the pond and Ocean are good.. not right on the beach.. but you know it’s there. Simply beautiful!! We definitely plan to rent this beautiful home again!!

This home worked well for our family reunion - plenty of space to spread out and give each other room when needed. There isn’t a fence between the house and pool, but they do have alarms on the doors with immediate access to the pool for safety.

Our group had an incredible stay at the Tranquil Turtle. All of us were in awe as soon as we stepped in. Each room was beautiful and thoughtfully designed and very spacious. It was so easy to relax wherever one found themselves. The living room was perfect for a Game of Thrones viewing. The kitchen was even more well stocked than we thought and perfect for cooking big group meals(bring extra trash bags and Tupperware though!). The pool and hot tub made our sunny days and evenings the pinnacle of relaxation. The beds were comfortable and plenty, and it was great to have so many bathrooms. We were able to walk to the beach from the house in 10 minutes. The location in Nags Head was also centrally locates for trips to the grocery store, outlets, Bodie Lighthouse, Jockey Ridge State Park, Wright Memorial, Duck boardwalk, and Roanoke. The hosts were always responsive and attentive to our needs. This was a very special vacation, thanks to our hosts, and we are already considering another trip!

I can not brag enough about this house! It was so beautiful! The rental staff were amazing. Everyone I spoke to was respectful and pleasant. I was so impressed by everyone. Absolutely Gorgeous Property!
We rented this house for friends and family attending our daughter's wedding. It was perfect for socializing and hosting nearby guests as well. The location is close to many nearby attractions, not to mention the challenging Nags Head Golf Course. This house is well maintained and has high end finishes. We would definitely stay here again!

This property is impeccable!
The owners of this property have done an exquisite job decorating and thinking of everything to have an enjoyable vacation. The pictures don't do it justice. Our trip was wonderful and loved the fact it was not right on the beach so we did not have to contend with sand in the house but close enough to enjoy and when not at the beach, the pool and hot tub are fabulous! Very nice and enjoyable!
